Pre-approval vs. pre-qualification
A pre-qualification may be based largely on information you provide. A stronger pre-approval generally includes a more detailed review and may include credit and supporting documents. Neither guarantees closing: the property, title, appraisal, updated finances, and final underwriting still matter.
Before making an offer
Avoid opening new credit, financing furniture or a vehicle, moving large sums without documentation, changing employment, or making major financial changes without discussing them first. These actions can affect qualification.
Application link update in progress
Home Jim’s secure online mortgage application link is being changed. Until the new link is ready, text Jim at 313-444-5233 to discuss the pre-approval process and request the correct secure application link. Never send Social Security numbers, tax documents, bank statements, or other sensitive financial information by text or ordinary email.
Pre-approval is subject to verification, underwriting requirements, and an acceptable property.
